About pythonlib.org
Python has a huge ecosystem of "libraries" — reusable pieces of code that developers install to avoid rebuilding common things from scratch. Their names (numpy, requests, pandas, flask...) are meaningless if you don't write code. pythonlib.org exists to translate what these libraries actually do into plain English, so non-developers — managers, students, curious readers — can understand the tools behind the software they use.
How the content is made
Each page starts from real, public metadata published on PyPI, the official Python package index — the library's own description, license, version history, and links. That data is turned into a plain-English explanation written specifically for each library, not generic filler. We link to the original PyPI, documentation, and source-code pages on every entry so you can verify anything yourself.
How this site is funded
pythonlib.org is supported by display advertising and affiliate links. Some outbound links (for example, to courses or hosting providers) are affiliate links: if you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which libraries we cover or what we say about them.
Analytics
We use an analytics tool to see which pages get visited and how people navigate the site, so we can improve it. This doesn't affect what content you see, and no personal or account information is collected.
Corrections
